Contractors, service departments and their employees who perform renovation, repair and painting in residential dwellings or child-occupied facilities that were constructed prior to 1978 will be affected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new rule called the Renovation, Repair & Painting Program (RRP). Under the rule, as of April 22, 2010, all contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb any paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built prior to 1978 must be CERTIFIED by the EPA and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Mr. Perry Brake, the course instructor, is accredited by the EPA to provide the RRP 8-hour training course.
